Rates and payments
The total annual lesson fee is divided into twelve equal payments. The amount collected monthly remains the same throughout the year.

Breakdown of the monthly fee: number of lessons per year (38) x fee per individual lesson = annual amount.
Annual amount ÷ 12 months = monthly fee.

VAT Rates: For individuals over 21 years old, we are legally required to charge 21% VAT.

Rates for regular lessons: 30 min private lesson (<21 years = €33 | >21 years (incl. 21% VAT) = €40,-)
60 min private lesson (<21 years = €66,- | >21 years (incl. 21% VAT) = €80,-)

Example 1:
A 12-year-old student taking weekly 30-minute private drum lessons.
€33 per lesson x 38 lessons ÷ 12 months = €105 per month.

Example 2:
A 31-year-old student taking biweekly 60-minute private drum lessons.
€80,- per lesson x 19 lessons ÷ 12 months = €127,- per month.

Exception: if a student does not start in the first week of the month, the number of lessons x price for a single lesson within a fixed rate must be paid in this first month.

Example 3:
Student aged 17 starts lessons in week 3 of September and therefore has 2 more lessons this month, in week 3 and week 4.
€33 x 2 lessons is €66, then payments of the fixed monthly amount start on October 1.

Note: When you discontinue drum lessons, the amount paid up to that point may not fully cover the number of lessons received. This amount will be adjusted in the final payment upon cancellation.

General Terms and Conditions
1. Registration and cancellation
Registration with Drum Lab Utrecht takes place through the registration form or via digital registration. By registering, the student, or in the case of a minor student, the parent/legal guardian, agrees to these general terms and conditions.
The registration is valid for an indefinite period and continues until the student decides to stop, taking into account a one-month cancellation notice period.
Cancellation must be submitted in writing. Once the cancellation has been received and the final lesson month has ended, the student will automatically be deregistered and any further obligations towards Drum Lab Utrecht will end.
Upon termination of the lessons, a final settlement may take place, whereby the amount already paid will be calculated against the number of lessons taken until the end of the agreement.
2. Payment
Payment is made through a monthly bank transfer by the student or, in the case of a minor student, by the parent/legal guardian.
The annual lesson fee is divided into twelve equal monthly instalments. Payment must be made no later than the first day of each month.
The monthly payment is an instalment towards the complete lesson programme and does not represent a separate payment per individual lesson attended.
When a student starts lessons during a month, the first payment will be adjusted according to the starting date.
In case of payment arrears, Drum Lab Utrecht reserves the right to temporarily suspend lessons until payment obligations have been fulfilled. Any additional costs resulting from payment arrears may be charged to the student or parent/legal guardian.
3. Absence and cancellation
If a student is unable to attend a lesson due to illness or another reason, this must be communicated to Drum Lab Utrecht or the relevant teacher at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson.
When a lesson has been cancelled in time, it may be rescheduled in consultation with the teacher, depending on availability and planning.
Drum Lab Utrecht offers the possibility to reschedule a maximum of two lessons per season. Missed lessons that have not been cancelled in time, or for which no suitable alternative moment can be found, do not entitle the student to a refund.
When a teacher is absent due to illness, performances, or other circumstances, Drum Lab Utrecht will provide an appropriate solution. This may consist of a substitute teacher or moving the lesson to another moment.
4. Lesson schedule and holidays
Before the first lesson or at the start of a new season, a suitable lesson time will be determined in consultation with the student and/or parent/legal guardian.
Drum Lab Utrecht aims to schedule existing students with the same teacher and at the same time whenever possible, but reserves the right to adjust the schedule or teacher allocation when necessary.
The lesson schedule and holidays are communicated annually via the website and/or other communication channels of Drum Lab Utrecht.
5. Number of lessons and rates
Drum Lab Utrecht works with an annual lesson programme based on a fixed number of lessons per calendar year.
The current rates are listed on www.drumlabutrecht.com. Prices may be adjusted annually. Any changes will be communicated in a timely manner.
For students aged 21 and older, the applicable VAT rate will be charged.
6. Instruments and other learning materials
Drum Lab Utrecht expects students to have access to a suitable instrument or practice possibility at home in order to practise the techniques and exercises covered during lessons.
The costs for purchasing, maintaining, and any other lesson materials are the responsibility of the student.
The teacher can provide advice and recommendations regarding this.
7. Individual lessons
For students who do not wish to follow regular lessons, there is the possibility to book individual lessons.
Individual lessons are scheduled in consultation with the relevant teacher and are subject to availability.
8. Use of equipment and lesson facilities
During lessons, instruments, equipment, and facilities of Drum Lab Utrecht and/or external lesson locations may be used.
Students must handle the available materials and facilities with care.

Damage caused by a student, parent/legal guardian, or accompanying person to property belonging to Drum Lab Utrecht, the landlord, or third parties may be recovered from the person responsible.
Drum Lab Utrecht is not liable for damage resulting from actions or omissions by students, parents/legal guardians, accompanying persons, or other visitors.
Drum Lab Utrecht is only liable for direct damage that can demonstrably be attributed to a failure in the performance of its services.
Any liability of Drum Lab Utrecht is limited to the amount paid out by its liability insurance in the relevant case.
If, for any reason, no insurance payment takes place, liability is limited to a maximum of the amount paid by the relevant student during the twelve months preceding the damage.
